Wes' first steps

Wes took a few first steps this morning on his own. Of course we had to coax him a little by opening my makeup drawer which he loves to pull things out of. HA HA. He actually did a little bit better this morning when we first got him to walk a few steps but he tried in this video so he gets an A for effort! :)

Wes being cute

Well I know it has been forever since I have updated this since I mostly put pictures on facebook now. I took this video this morning because there are some cute and funny things Wes can do now but he never performs on command when other people are around.

He tries to say lots of things and I'm pretty sure has his own language in his world. Of course he says dada, dog which sounds like ada, he says yeah (sometimes), boo and I think he has been trying to say tree which comes out as ta because we have been working on this with all the little Christmas trees in the house.

According to this video, I think he is also now saying all done. Anyway, I'll let you enjoy the video. Since I'm sure I won't update this again next week, I hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Tyler's concert

Well Wes went to his first concert last night. It was his big brothers first band concert. Tyler plays the drums as well the instrument he is playing which I think is the percussion? I can't remember the name of it. Anyway, I thought that Tyler was really good and was very impressed with their whole band. The director said that this is the first time that they have all played together so I thought it was pretty impressive! Wes also really enjoyed it, he was kicking his feet to the music and dancing in his stroller, too cute! Enjoy!

Wes laughing at the baboons

The baboons were chasing each other around and not sure if they were fighting or just playing but there were squealing pretty loud and Wes thought it was hilarious. I didn't catch it the first few times that I was watching this but it's also pretty funny that Brad is saying something about one of the baboons having a really red butt! HA HA

We had a great time at the zoo. When we first got there, we ran to the dolphin show and Wes seemed a little unsure about that, when one jumped and splashed everyone, he clinged on to me. He just looked like he wasn't real sure about all of it. Then we wandered over and checked out the giraffe's and rhinos which he thought were really cool and seemed like he just wanted to go play with them. He wasn't too interested in the lion or the elephants since they just kinda stand there or lay around and don't do too much.

He also really loved watching the walrus', the penguins and all of the fish. It was just so much fun to see his reactions to everything and I wish that I had that kind of excitment and enthusiasm everyday!

Wes saying no

Just some funny photos of me trying to get pictures of his upper teeth! LOL He was trying to eat the camera!!!

Of course I am shaking my head no also but it's still funny, next I just have to get him to say it... The last video is just a good one of his mood swings while teething, happy one minute and upset the next. We have fun going thru that all day! LOL

Summer fun

First, I want to wish my baby a Happy Birthday today, I can't believe he is 10 months old already. Seriously, where does the time go? I know it has been a long time since I have updated but now that my entire family is on facebook, I have been mostly just posting photos there. So, if you're not on facebook yet, you need to be! ha ha

Anyway, Wes had his first haircut since I posted last. Daddy did it with the trimmers and as you can see, it looks great. He's actually about ready to have another haircut, it seems it's slowly turning into a mullet, LOL. It's not growing much upfront but the back is. Wes is now able to climb up the stairs, everyone said we're in trouble now but we really don't hang out in that part of the house much and we already had the area gated off because of the dogs so we're good!

He is trying to pull up on everything now these days too so we're definitely in trouble with that, he gets into everything that he shouldn't be getting into. He still has no teeth and really no signs of teeth! I asked the Dr. at his 9 month appt. what the record was in his practice and he said his record was 15 months and that's his own son and he said it was a month of hell because he got about 8-10 teeth at once. I really am hoping that isn't the case for us or Brad might have to take some vacation time because I probably wouldn't sleep for a month.

As you can see, we have been having a really fun summer on the boat, Wes really enjoys it most days but he has his days that he doesn't want to be there either. Today, we would be on the boat except that we are having exceptionally cool weather here in Indiana right now, it's only in the 70 range today which is just weird for it being mid-July.

If people are still reading this and looking at the pictures, post a comment, otherwise I might not continue to update it. I figured I will at least keep this going until Wes turns a year old.

I hope everyone is having an awesome summer!

Wes attempting to whistle

He's been making this funny face and blowing lately and the more he is doing it, the more he is acutally starting to almost whistle. He had just woken up from his nap and is apparently still a little sleepy.

Happy Anniversary to my wonderful husband!

Well it's been a couple of weeks so I thought I better add some new photos. As you can see, Wes is learning to climb over things and he loves climbing on and off of this pillow that is actually kind of a dog bed but neither of them ever lay on it so I guess it's becoming a Wes bed. LOL
He is also learning to pull up on things and is trying to stand up, he's not even full crawling yet, still army crawling so I'm wondering if he will go straight to walking, we'll see.
We still have no sign of teeth but last week up til Wednesday which was Brad and my 3 year wedding anniversary, Wes had not been the best baby in the world. We went out to dinner and had to listen to a screaming/crying baby the whole way home which was not fun, it wasn't even past his bedtime. Since then, he has been the BEST baby ever, he was absolutely wonderful on the boat this weekend, falling asleep on my shoulder and the next day he fell asleep on the floor of the boat all by himself, the last few times we had been boating, he was really fighting sleep so this was a nice change! Hopefully he is getting more used to it.
There is one photo of Wes on his many jog/walks with mommy although this weather is supposed to stink this week, hot and rainy so no more of those this week I guess. He also is making a really ugly face when grandma gave him that lemon but he actually liked it! Yet he makes a sour face when I give him a graham cracker... go figure!

Happy Memorial Day!

We had such a fun weekend and I hope everyone else did too. We were super busy and glad to be back into a normal week and I'm sure Wes is happy to get back to his normal routine also. Brad took off on Friday so we got some things done around the house, I got to go for a couple of bike rides this weekend so that was really nice but now I need a few more to burn off the calories I consumed this weekend. Friday, we went to get a new dishwasher since ours died last week. We also went out to dinner for my favorite, Mexican. YUM!

Saturday, Brad had a double header so he was gone most of the day. Unfortunately, they lost both of their games and their last game is supposed to be tonight but have a feeling it might be rained out, we will see. Hopefully they get to have it and win it so they can end the season on a positive note.

Saturday evening, we went to the Bonds to cookout with them, not realizing it was their 17th wedding anniversary and they cooked us dinner!!!

Sunday, we went to Jen & Erick's parents for a cookout/wedding shower for them. They are getting married in Denver next month and we are so happy for them and know they will have a wonderful life together, we're just really bummed that we're not getting to attend the wedding. Silly me put the camera on the charger but forgot to take it with me so I have no pictures of that.

Sunday evening, we took the Bonds a yummy cheesecake made by Brad and I made their favorite, chicken tamale casserole. We got to go out on the pontoon for a bit and as you can see, it's like a little playground for Wes, he loved it. He also got his first taste of a fudgesicle that day and apparently really liked it too. It was really hot and humid this weekend so I'm sure it was refreshing.

Monday, we woke up to a rainy day and wondered what we were going to do since we were supposed to go sailing with Jen, Erick and their friend John who came in from Denver with them. Katie and Mike, the proud owners of the cosmic muffin and Mike's brother, Steve and his friend Barrett. We decided that we would all just meet at Rick's cafe on the water for lunch and if it cleared up, we would be right there to go sailing. Well, as you can see, it wasn't the sunniest of days but we still got to go out sailing. Wes did so amazing, way better than I thought he would ever do being in such a confined space, he seemed to really enjoy it, YAY!!! I already can't wait until this weekend, it's supposed to be nice out again and hopefully we will get to sail again and get in some time on our boat! FINALLY!

Just a couple of side notes, Wes is saying dada now which is really cute, he started saying it last week and Brad pretended like he wasn't really saying it but it's okay that he is saying it since I know he has no idea what it actually means! LOL He also has begun trying some real food, as you can see, the fudgesicle being one of them. I tried cottage cheese and wheat bread and he made faces like both of them are disgusting, I know that cottage cheese isn't the best thing in the world but bread is bread! I did give him some of my yogurt and he seemed to really like it but it was the yoplait whips, chocolate mousse so who wouldn't like that!!!

Anyway, I hope everyone has a great week!

Cookout with friends

We had a really fun time on May 17th, we had over Mike and Katie, Pam, Lucy and Michael, Mollie and Tom and Taryn, Brad and Bradley for a cookout, the kids all obviously had a really good time.

We have discovered that apparently Wes has a thing for shoes or feet so maybe he will be a podiatrist (sp?) or shoe designer, LOL. He and Lucy had so much fun grabbing each other and trying to make out, ha ha. And Wes obviously is not a fan of pink!

Catch up time on some photos while Wes is napping!

Just catching up on some photos that I haven't had time to load...
We went to Red Robin for dinner one night and Wes really liked his balloon so we had to bring it home, this should be an advertisement for them!
We went over to to tbe Bond's one afternoon for a cookout and had a lot of fun with the dogs and the horn that Steve and Kathryn gave to Wes.
We have also discovered that Wes really likes peanut butter on a spoon, just like daddy.
And the last one is just us having some fun in the backyard.
